Dr. Robert Zhong Department of Surgery Research Day, London ON, 2024
Dr. Parsyan was the clinical scientist speaker at this year's Dr. Robert Zhong Department of Surgery Research Day held at Brescia College in London Ontario on June 5, 2024. He presented our latest findings in a presentation entitiled, "Spatial Omics Studies in Breast Cancer – New Opportunities for Biomarker and Drug Target Discoveries", in which he described exciting new information regarding differential gene expression in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients. He also discussed the potential of the new omics technologies that we are utilizing and the power of these technologies to produce a significant amount of information regarding which genes are implicated in breast cancer metastasis and therapy resistance, particularly in hard-to-treat TNBC. This has the potential of better informing oncologists and surgeons regarding treatment options both before and after surgery, giving patients a better oncological outcome.
