3rd Annual Paediatric Surgery Research Day
The third annual Paediatric Surgery Research Day was held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre in London, Ontario. The event was well attended and comprised of over thirty participants, including, paediatric surgeons, nurses, residents, medical students, and research staff.
The program included excellent research presentations in many areas of paediatric surgery, including; Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, General Surgery, and Urology; a list of presentations can be found below.
Our guest speaker Dr. Lily Nguyen, a paediatric otolaryngologist at Montreal Children’s Hospital and Associate Professor of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at McGill University, provided an outstanding presentation on how to develop a simulation training program with a multi-disciplinary team at paediatric health care centres and the importance of having these programs. Her experience and work with simulation training provided a great example for the attendees on how to implement the training program at our Centre.
