About Us
Paediatric Surgery is the youngest division in the Department of Surgery. It became a formal division in 2004 with six specialized paediatric surgeons in the areas of general, orthopaedic, and dental surgery. Since then, the Division has grown to nineteen paediatric surgical specialists servicing the areas of Orthopaedics, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Plastics and Urology. We provide full clinical outpatient, inpatient care, and operative services to children throughout Southwest, Central and Northwestern Ontario.
Paediatric Surgery is an academic Division devoted to teaching and research. The Division's academic interests range from cranio-facial reconstruction to multi-centre orthopedic clinical trials to robotics research at the CSTAR laboratory. Our Division members are committed to the academic mission to the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate and fellowship levels of paediatric surgical training.
