Financial Support
Generally, graduate students are supported by bursaries or awards from government or granting agencies, or from their supervisor's research funds. Bursaries and awards are given on the basis of academic excellence. Generally, the deadlines for application are in the fall. Smaller, one-time awards for academic excellence are available from SGPS. In addition, a limited number of graduate teaching assistantships are available as described above. Students are urged to apply for all support for with they are eligible both from granting agencies such as NSERC, CIHR and from sources such as the Ontario Graduate Scholarship program (OGS).
