Application Process
All fellowship positions are expected to start July 1st each year. International students must arrive at least 2 weeks before starting to complete all required paper work. The number of positions available varies from year-to-year.
If you have applied in the past and not been successful, you are welcome to apply again. Please ensure that an updated CV has been submitted for review.
We are looking for people who demonstrate, value and prioritize the CanMEDs roles – Medical Expert, Collaborator, Communicator, Scholar, Professional, Leader, and Health Advocate. The program aims to aid successful candidates to grow in these roles.
Canadian Applicants
Canadian citizens / permanent residents enrolled in an accredited Core Paediatrics program in Canada or ACGME-accredited American university, are asked to submit an application through CaRMS.
International Applicants
For international applicants, this is a 3-step registration process.
- Submit a CV to Carrie Kinsman, Program Administrator, by email, for review. Your CV will be kept on file for the next recruitment competition.
- Eligible applicants will then be asked to electronically submit an application package. Instructions will be emailed to eligible applicants.
- Successful applicants will be invited to interview virtually. All applicants will be notified, whether successful or not.
Our generic recruitment timelines are as follows
- CV Submission - any time throughout the year
- Application Deadline - January 31st
- Offers for interview - early February
- Interviews - February / March
- Offers for Fellowship - mid-March
