Visiting Professor - Dr. Judy Yee
Dr. Yee is from the University of California, School of Medicine, San Francisco. Her specialty is in Abdominal Imaging. She is the Director of the 3D Imaging Lab. Dr. Yee was the President of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR) at the Society’s annual meeting held March 22-27 in San Diego, California, one of the largest abdominal radiology societies in the world, provides leadership and fosters advances in the areas of both diagnosis and intervention in abdominal radiology. She is also the Professor and Vice Chair of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF and Chief of Radiology at the San Francisco VA Medical Center.Dr. Yee received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and also completed her residency in Radiology at Albert Einstein. Her Abdominal Imaging fellowship was completed at UCSF. She is an accomplished abdominal and gastrointestinal radiologist.
Dr. Yee's research is primarily focused on colorectal cancer screening and early detection using a novel technique that she has helped to develop called virtual colonoscopy or CT colonography. She is widely recognized as a pioneer of this technique. She has been appointed Principal Investigator in many of her significant studies and publications. She has published over 110 peer-reviewed articles, 23 book chapters, and 107 scientific abstracts. She is the primary author of the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria for colorectal cancer screening in adults.
Dr. Yee is the recipient of multiple awards including the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Haile Debas Academy of Medical Educators, the Best Speaker Award from the American Roentgen Ray Society and the Visiting Professorship Award from the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists. She has been on the Board of Directors of the Society of Abdominal Radiology since 2011. Dr. Yee is the Chair of the American College of Radiology Colon Cancer Committee, Chair of the Public Information Committee for the Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA) and Vice-Chair of the Board for the Northern California Institute for Research and Education (NCIRE) Colorectal cancer screening and early detection.
