Internal Medicine
A Distributed Education will offer you an opportunity to visit us and see a different side of GIM. Select a community in the region and explore the breadth of GIM from office based clinics to taking care of patients in an ICU.
This rotation will provide an opportunity to develop comprehensive approaches to common internal medicine problems or, for more senior trainees, to consolidate consultative skills; a dynamic mix of both ambulatory and inpatient care with a focus on the former.
The community experience provides a low teacher-student ratio to allow the tailor of your experience based on individual abilities, give a more hands-on role and fosters opportunities to explore medical decision making. You’ll see amazing pathology. Working within health care teams in a community setting, you are exposed to a wide variety of services and alternative models of the General Internal Medicine role.
