Event filled new-year
Welcome back everyone and I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season. It’s great to be back as a full group, with the Medicine Class of 2016 joining us for their final semester. We hope that your interviews went well, and we wish you all the best in the matching process. Great new adventures and success are soon to follow.
The start of the new year has been an exciting time for all of us and we have been keeping busy. January started off with a bang for all of our students who travelled to Sherbrooke to represent Schulich Medicine at MedGames 2016. Although we did not end the weekend with the most team points, I’m told we finished as the team who had the most fun.
Our students have also been in touch with their artistic side as of late. The Windsor band, among others, truly rocked at Schulichpalooza band night. They never cease to impress with their multitude of musical talents. Furthermore, our students have been hard at work preparing for their respective Tachycardia productions. We are all looking forward to April 8 and April 9, for the finished musicals and to find out who will be crowned this year’s champions.
After hearing about all of the activities that have already been underway, it’s hard to believe that there is so much more to look forward to. Coming up, we will be hosting Windsor’s Career Night 2016 at the Dr. Murray O’Neil Medical Education Centre. This is a wonderful evening where students have the opportunity to discuss career options with outstanding volunteer residents and physicians.
Additionally, at the upcoming Windsor Program Awards of Excellence we will be spending an evening to commemorate all of the hard-working members of our community.
Finally, the Windsor Cup is fast approaching. In this annual event, all four classes will be competing against each other in a multitude of sports all while raising money for charity. I wish the best to all competing classes, but I think that this is my class' – Medicine Class of 2018 - year.
Until next time,
Alex
