Awards of Excellence – Windsor Program nominations
The Windsor Program’s Awards of Excellence in Medical Education recognize exceptional performance and contributions of the Program’s faculty, staff and learners. They are the most prestigious teaching and peer awards presented by the Windsor Program. Augmenting the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry's Dean's Awards of Excellence, these awards celebrate individuals who are part of the Windsor Program specifically.
Recognize an outstanding colleague or peer by nominating them for a Windsor Program Award of Excellence. Nominations for the 2015-16 awards are now being accepted and must be submitted before Friday, February 12, 2016. Nomination criteria and nomination forms are available online.
Award recipients will be presented their awards at the Windsor Program’s Celebration of Excellence Dinner on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.
Educators’ Award of Excellence in Medical Education
Recognize an outstanding educator or staff member who has displayed exceptional interest and enthusiasm for the learning needs of all Windsor Program learners, demonstrated superior leadership, teaching ability, accessibility or willingness to help learners beyond the norm, and the ability to serve as an exemplary role model.
Nominations may be submitted by any active learner currently enrolled in the Windsor Program or any Schulich Medicine resident who has completed a rotation/s in Windsor during 2015-16.
Learner Peer Award of Excellence in Medical Education
Learners are asked to consider nominating a fellow Windsor Program learner who has displayed exceptional interest and enthusiasm and the ability to generate learner enthusiasm; and made a significant contribution to improving the quality of academic or extracurricular life in Windsor.
Nominations may be submitted by any active learner currently enrolled in the Windsor Program or any Schulich Medicine resident who has completed a rotation/s in Windsor during 2015-16.
Associate Dean’s Award of Excellence in Medical Education
Windsor Program faculty and staff are asked to consider nominating an outstanding individual who contributes to providing the best learner experience, promotes leadership and personal growth and builds and fosters core values of integrity, respect and commitment to service within the Windsor Program.
Nominations may be submitted by Windsor Program faculty or staff.
2016 Dr. Colin Nisbet Award for Excellence in Emergency Medicine
The Dr. Colin Nisbet Award for Excellence in Emergency Medicine is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate Schulich Medicine - Windsor Program student graduating from the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program who demonstrates a proficiency and passion for emergency medicine. This student will have demonstrated a commitment to providing excellent care in emergency medicine to patients and their families while being a considerate and knowledgeable part of the health care team.
Nominations may be submitted by Schulich Medicine-appointed emergency medicine physicians/faculty who have been in direct contact with students during their third year emergency medicine rotation and/or fourth year ER elective.
Family Medicine Awards of Excellence
Windsor Sub-Specialty Rotation - Faculty of the Year Award
This award is given annually to a faculty member outside of the Department of Family Medicine in a Specialty Rotation who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing Family Medicine residency education as evidenced by innovation and impact beyond his/her program.
Nominations may be submitted by PGY1, PGY2 and PGY3 residents and Windsor Program staff.
Windsor Family Medicine - Faculty of the Year Award
This award is given annually to a Windsor Program Family Medicine faculty member who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing Family Medicine residency education as evidenced by innovation and impact beyond his/her program.
Nominations may be submitted by PGY1, PGY2 and PGY3 residents and Windsor Program staff.
Windsor Family Medicine - Post Graduate Award for Academic Leadership
This award seeks to honour a resident who has displayed exceptional interest and enthusiasm for the promotion of the Windsor Family Medicine residency program, learning needs of fellow residents, demonstrated superior leadership, accessibility or willingness to support fellow residents beyond the norm, and the ability to serve as an exemplary role model.
