Dr. Mark Awuku, Assistant Dean, Faculty & Governmental Affairs
Greetings to you all as we head into the Holiday Season.
I know that many of you are looking forward to the new Conditions of Appointments and Promotion document. A great deal of time has been spent working on this document and the guidelines will be set out for faculty who want to pursue an academic stream, as well as those who want to remain as faculty with limited duties appointments and have an adjunct professor roles.
The Clinical Teachers Association, which has been spearheaded by Dr. Dana Fleming, held a meeting on November 27. The main topic of discussion was the Association.
A decision was made at the well-attended meeting that the interim association executive will take a proposal to the London Clinical Teachers Association and a referendum will be conducted among the Windsor faculty before the end of January 2015 to decide upon the next steps.
Based on your feedback to us, we understand that mentoring is another area of interest for you, and we have increased focus on this subject. I hope that you had an opportunity to respond to the mentoring survey. I would like to thank Dr. Margaret Steele, Doug Jones, PhD, and Noor Jawaid, Medicine Class of 2015, for their support in managing the survey. The results will help us in setting up the appropriate mentoring program for all faculty.
If you have questions about the new conditions of appointments and promotions document or the mentoring survey, please don’t hesitate to contact.
All the best to each of you and to your families for a happy holiday; I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
