With the arrival of fall and the month of September, all of us at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry experience great change. That change however is always accompanied by a renewed sense of energy and much promise, as each of the classes moves onto a new stage in their education and training. On September 4, I attended the "Meet and Greet" reception for incoming students. It was exciting to see many of the 38 students who comprise the Class of 2016 of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry - Windsor Program; I was impressed by their enthusiasm and promise.
I had the good fortune to interact with many of our first year students, who earlier in the day has taken their first class and who were really elated to be part of the School. Spending time with them once again revealed to me the rich fabric of students we have in the Windsor Program.
There is no less enthusiasm amongst upper year students. Our Class of 2015 has moved on to their second year and they are ready to help our new students settle in. And our Class of 2014 has started their clerkship orientation. Without question, seeing the activity of our students in the hospitals and in the community is very gratifying.
It was also wonderful to see such a strong turnout of faculty members at the event, including many of our newest members. All of this left no doubt in my mind that we are growing and moving forward as a Program. On behalf of the Windsor faculty, I will like to welcome the Class of 2016 to Windsor.
