Research took centre stage in November as the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and London community celebrated the best in epilepsy, stroke and dementia research at a series of events. The 2018 J. Allyn Taylor International Prize in Medicine was awarded to Dr. Istvan Mody, a pioneer in epilepsy research. At the Leaders in Innovation Dinner, special guests David and Susan Axelrod were welcomed, a $2.5 million donation in support of epilepsy research from Jack and Sharon Cowin was celebrated, and the importance of research in finding a cure for epilepsy was highlighted.
Earlier in the month, Schulich Medicine & Dentistry celebrated the 2018 Killam Prize recipient, Dr. Vladimir Hachinski, as he treated guests to a special presentation and engaging lecture.
