Informative and Insightful discussions at coffee sessions
This past academic year, Dean Strong has been meeting with faculty over coffee at our some of our partner hospitals in London and Windsor. To date, four Conversation and Coffee sessions have been hosted by the Dean, and two more are planned to take place in April – one in London at University Hospital and one in Windsor at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare. The sessions were identified by faculty through a survey as a format they would be most interested in participating in to engage with the Dean.
During each session the Dean has been able to share news about the School and engage in insightful discussions about the concerns of faculty. According to the Dean, in most cases, the conversation could have lasted an hour or two longer, as there was so much to discuss.
“Each session has been different,” said Dr. Strong. “But they have all been illuminating, and if just one person can leave the session with answers to their questions and more information about the future directions of the School, I know that it has been worthwhile.”
The sessions this year, were in a sense a pilot, to determine the broad interest and effectiveness of the format. A review will take place in the spring and a decision will be made if the sessions will be continued and expanded.
There’s still time to register for the upcoming sessions being held:
April 6, Rm. C3-170, University Hospital, London, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
April 12, Rm. CP-1624, Corporate Boardroom, Tayfour Campus, Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare
