Congratulations to Dr. William Wall who has been awarded the 2015 James H. Graham Award of Merit by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The award is named after the organization’s former secretary-general, James Graham. It recognizes outstanding achievements that reflect the aims and objectives of the Royal College.
Lauren Flynn, PhD, an Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology, received a financial boost in the quest to demonstrate how stem cells sourced from your body’s fat can assist in wound healing and musculoskeletal regeneration. Thanks to new funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s John R. Evans Leaders Fund, the School will be able to invest in infrastructure to continue her cutting-edge research in this area. Congratulations to Nikita Zhitkevich, who now stands among 38 members of the fifth The Next 36 cohort, Canada’s most selective program for young entrepreneurs. Zhitkevich was selected from a pool of more than 630 applicants from 45 institutions across the country. Supported by more than 200 business leaders across Canada, The Next 36 provides world-class academic instruction, business mentorship and venture building to the country’s most promising entrepreneurs.
