Two Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry trainees have been named recipients of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, Canada’s most prestigious scholarship for doctoral students. Cindy Hutnik, MD, PhD, has been selected as the recipient of the Rising Star Achievement Award from the University of Ottawa. This award recognizes an outstanding alumni who has demonstrated professional excellence and exceptional leadership while making significant contributions in the advancement of health outcomes and patient care.
Congratulations to our Schulich Medicine & Dentistry faculty, Lorelei Lingard, PhD, Ruth Martin, PhD, and Dr. Bryan Richardson, who were inducted as fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS). The academy recognizes those who have a history of outstanding performance in the academic health sciences in Canada.
Congratulations also goes out to Donna Murrell, PhD candidate, who received a Doctoral Fellowship from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Yiwen Xue, PhD Candidate, received the Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship – congratulations to Xue for this great acknowledgement.
Terry Peters, PhD, has been awarded the Enduring Impact Award from the Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) Society. The award was presented at the Society’s annual conference which is considered the premier international conference in medical image processing, robotic surgery and image-guided surgery using augmented reality and virtual reality.
