Legacy gift for Windsor Program students
A well-known physician in the Windsor-Essex community has left a legacy gift to the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Program. Dr. Murray O’Neil’s posthumous donation will support local students pursuing their medical studies with the Program through the Dr. Murray O’Neil Scholarship.
In recognition of Dr. O’Neil’s contributions to the Windsor community and his support for the Program, the Medical Education Building will be renamed the Dr. Murray O’Neil Medical Education Centre.
Dr. O'Neil, an alumnus of Western University, spent his career in Windsor-Essex County.
“Dr. Murray O’Neil was a highly respected physician known across the community,” said Alan Wildeman, PhD, president of the University of Windsor. “He understood the importance of having medical education in this part of the province, and it is truly an honour to have his name become a part of the future of the University and of medical education and care in Windsor-Essex.”
