Celebrating our achievements
We are celebrating the monthly achievements of our faculty, staff, trainees and students. This month we'd like to congratulate the Run for Ovarian Cancer group on their fundraising success, the AFMC Public Health Learning Tools Challenge award winners and the recipients of the Paul Harding Research Awards.
The 12th annual Run for Ovarian Cancer raised more than $185,000. Since its inception in 2006, all the funds raised have been focused on early detection and to discovering a cure for ovarian cancer. The money raised goes directly toward the Translational Ovarian Cancer Research Program in London, Ontario.
Nearly 100 healthcare professional learners from across Canada participated in the AFMC Public Health Learning Tools Challenge to create learning and teaching tools on public health topics that will be used to enhance their education.
The Second Prize award was given to Ryhana Dawood, Shreya Roy, Tinya Lin for “Case Competitions for Public Health Learning”. Honorable mentions were awarded to Tehmina Ahmad, Han Yan, Keegan Guidolin and Paul Foster for “Transcare” and Yoshith Dayan Perera and Umme Salma Jahan Meena for “Videos of Public Health Cases.”
