Homecoming 2015 and Alumni of Distinction Awards
It’s only December, but on campus, amidst the snow and the crush to cram for exams, we are already thinking ahead to Homecoming 2015.
For alumni who graduated in years ending in “0s” and “5s”, it’s your official reunion year. And for all graduates from medicine, dentistry, graduate studies and the bachelor of medical sciences program, there will be much to celebrate and a variety of activities to enjoy.
We are putting together the finishing touches for the exciting three-day event, and have plans for more tours, the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture, continuing education programs for medicine and dentistry alumni, as well as an on-campus Homecoming-style lunch. Our Mustangs will see action once again, so you can keep your afternoon open for the game.
The Dean’s Gala will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the London Convention Centre. This year, we are offering special reunion class pricing available for any alumnus who is celebrating their reunion year. For only $75, you and your class can join us for a wonderful event featuring, a special reception, a three-course meal and a live band. The event is open to all alumni and students. The weekend also features the presentation of the 2015 Alumni of Distinction Awards. The call for nominations for all awards is now open. Alumni of Distinction exemplify the values of Schulich Medicine & Dentistry in their dedication to excellence, professional leadership and commitment to social responsibility.
Some of our previous recipients include: Samir Sinha, MD’03, Brad Thompson, PhD’81, James Jean, DDS’73, Noam and Beryl Chernick, MD’62, and David Jaffray, PhD’94. You can find nomination forms online here. You can read more about the award recipients in the past issues of Rapport Magazines.
More information about all Homecoming activities will begin to appear in your inbox and mail box in the early spring, so mark your calendars now and consider joining us for this special weekend.
