Announcement - Dr. Susan Huang appointed the Dr. Robert Lindsay Chair in Dialysis Research and Innovation
Dr. Susan Huang
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Susan Huang has been appointed as the Dr. Robert Lindsay Chair in Dialysis Research and Innovation at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective September 16, 2024, to September 15, 2029.
Dr. Huang graduated with a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University in 2001 and received her MD from the University of Ottawa in 2005.
Dr. Huang completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Western and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2010. In 2013, Dr. Huang joined the Department of Medicine at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, where she is currently an Associate Professor. In 2015, she received her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Western.
Dr. Huang is currently the Director of the Glomerulonephritis Clinic, Director of Plasmapheresis and Home Hemodialysis Programs and Program Director of the Glomerulonephritis Fellowship at Western. She also serves as a wellbeing lead within her department, providing peer support to faculty at the School.
In 2019, Dr. Huang was awarded the Early Researcher Award by the province. The Early Researcher Awards program gives funding to new researchers working at publicly-funded research institutions in Ontario to build a research team. In 2017, she was awarded the New Investigator Award, CSN New Investigator Award for Young Researchers from the Canadian Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Huang is committed to advancing research, education and innovation in the field of hemodialysis and extracorporeal therapy, leveraging her expertise and passion to further the goals and vision of the Department of Medicine. Western's commitment to excelling in education and research resonates deeply with Dr. Huang’s values.
