It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Andrew Edward Jones on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the age of 52.
Flags will be lowered to half-mast on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Western University, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph’s Health Care London (St. Joseph’s) in his memory.
Dr. Jones was an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Dr. Jones was also a physician at LHSC’s Victoria Hospital and University Hospital in the Emergency Department, and at St. Joseph’s Urgent Care Centre.
Andrew is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 22 years, Angela, and their cherished children, Adrian and Abigail. He is also survived by his parents, Arthur and Gillian, his sisters Kathryn (Kevin) Farbridge and Sarah (Tim) Jones-Young, and he will be remembered as a beloved son-in-law (Mary and Mike Racine, Ted and Pam Pease), brother-in-law and uncle to his nine nieces and nephews. Our thoughts are with Dr. Jones’ loved ones and colleagues during this difficult time.
Andrew loved to spend his weekends watching his children play sports, and sharing concerts, music and movies with them. He was a dedicated and respected emergency room physician for over 20 years and had recently begun working in palliative care.
The family would especially like to thank all the first responders involved and the emergency care team at University Hospital for their outstanding and compassionate care.
A visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 2.30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. A private service will be conducted separately.
