Announcement: Dr. Larry Jacobs re-appointed as Associate Dean, Windsor
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Larry Jacobs has been re-appointed as Associate Dean, Windsor in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective September 1, 2023 until August 31, 2028.
Dr. Jacobs graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2002 and Bachelor of Education in 2003 from the University of Windsor. He earned an MD at Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2007 and went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Toronto in 2011.
He joined the Department of Medicine at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry in 2011. His area of specialization is Internal Medicine. He has been involved in the academic leadership of the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Campus since 2012, first as the Undergraduate Internal Medicine Academic Director, then Assistant Dean, Windsor Faculty Affairs in 2016 and Associate Dean, Windsor Campus since 2018. Over this time, his collaborative leadership style has been instrumental in the growth and expansion of medical education in Windsor.
Dr. Jacobs is twice the recipient of the Western University Class of ’62 award, three-time recipient of the Internal Medicine PGY3 – CTU Consultant Physician Award in 2015, 2016, and 2023, Department of Family Medicine Best Specialist Teacher 2016, Windsor Campus Award of Excellence in 2013, the Hippocratic Council Windsor Clinician Teaching Award in 2013, and the University Student’s Council Teaching Honour Roll in 2012.
