Leadership Announcement: Chair, Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine

john-fuller-408x197.pngI am pleased to announce that the appointment of Dr. John Fuller as interim Chair, Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, has been extended effective January 1, 2024 to February 28, 2024 or until a permanent Chair is appointed.

Dr. Fuller is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry. He serves as the Medical Director of Perioperative Care at St Joseph’s Hospital and is the Vice-Chair of the Academic Medical Organization of Southwestern Ontario Governing Committee.

Dr. John Fuller obtained his medical degree at Western in 1980 and holds a Certified Canadian Physician Executive certificate. He has received numerous awards, including the PARO Resident Advocate Award and the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society Clinical Teacher Award.

During this period of interim leadership, Dr. Fuller looks forward to working collaboratively to best support clinical and departmental operations and to ensure the optimal functioning of the Department.
