Announcement: Dr. Alice Tsui appointed as the Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education – Windsor Campus

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Alice Tsui has been appointed as the Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education – Windsor Campus, at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2028.

Dr. Tsui obtained her Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University, and graduated from the Doctor of Medicine program at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry in 1999.

She obtained specialty certification in Emergency Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2002, and in 2020 obtained a Master of Science in Health Professions Education from McMaster University. She is currently an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and practices emergency medicine in Windsor.

Born and raised in Windsor, Dr. Tsui is proud to have been involved in medical education at the beginning of the Schulich Windsor Campus in 2008. Since then, she has held several administrative and leadership positions, including UME Academy of Educators, Clerkship and Electives Committee Co-chair, Windsor Campus Clerkship Director, and Transition to Clerkship Course Co-chair.

Passionate about curriculum development, Dr. Tsui implemented several emergency medicine and critical care simulation educational activities for the Windsor Campus and led the creation of the Transition to Clerkship course.

She has served as an Observed Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE) examiner for many years and has worked to create and implement Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) workplace assessments for clerkship and electives.

She is currently involved in developing a new format for OSCE exams to be run throughout clerkship. Dr. Tsui received the Canadian Association for Medical Education Award of Merit in 2021 and the Schulich Excellence in Education (Undergraduate) Leader Award in 2022.

Dr. Alice Tsui is committed to be a part of medical education as a teacher, innovator, researcher, motivator, and a leader. As well, she is dedicated to achieving educational excellence, building relationships, and establishing new ones.
