Award: Terry Peters, PhD, honoured for outstanding career
Congratulations to Terry Peters, PhD, who was awarded the 2019 Gold medal from The Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP).
The Gold Medal is the highest award given by COMP and recognizes an active or retired member who has had an outstanding career and has made a significant contribution to the field of medical physics in Canada.
Peters is a Professor at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and a scientist at Robarts Research Institute. Throughout a career spanning almost 50 years, Peters has made immense contributions to medical imaging and image-guided interventional procedures both Canada-wide and internationally. His work includes more than a thousand combined abstract presentations, invited lectures and published articles.
COMP recognized his enthusiasm and love of science and technology and how that is reflected in the work of his many mentees who are also shaping the future of the profession.
Peters was honoured with the award at a special ceremony on September 26 at COMP’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Kelowna, BC.
