Simulation Summit 2013: Promoting Professional Proficiencies

Dr. Vivian McAlister, Division of General Surgery, will be among the faculty at this year's Royal College Simulation Summit. The event will be held November 8-9, 2013, in Vancouver, Canada.

As the expert keynote speaker, Dr. McAlister will teach participants to:

• analyze disaster plans for their organization;
• organize specific training for different disciplines in mass casualty reception and care; and
• determine personnel, equipment and physical plant requirements to prepare their organization for mass casualty incidents.

Hands-on workshops will be facilitated by: Major Kate Doyle (University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alta.); Daniel Power (University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ont.); Vivian McAlister (Western University, London, Ont.); Brian Church; Rob Johnston (University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ont.).
