Liver Transplant Team Selected for 2013 Rising Star Awards at the 2013 ILTS Annual Meeting

Congratulations to Drs. Roberto Hernandez-Alejandro and Kris Croome, Division of General Surgery, on receiving the Rising Star Award at the International Liver Transplantation Society's 19^th Annual International Congress.

Abstracts submitted by young investigator/mentor teams are judged on their degree of excellence. Over 700 abstracts were submitted, with only six being chosen for the award.

Dr. Hernandez-Alejandro received the Rising Star Award in 2008 as a young investigator. Five years later he received the award again, but as a mentor to Dr. Croome. This is a first in the history of the ILTS.
