Windsor Regional Hospital
The Mental Health Program at Windsor Regional Hospital provides acute services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for patients 16 years of age or older. Services include emergency psychiatric assessments through the Emergency Department, admission into our 60-bed acute mental health program, or admission into our 8-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
In addition to emergency room consults, services are focused on crisis intervention and inpatient care. General Adult Psychiatrists provide support to hospital inpatient programs and services sharing responsibility for the consult liaison service and emergency department coverage.
WRH is also responsible for administering the acute psychiatric inpatient program services at Maryvale for children and teens ages 7 to 16 years old who require timely assessments, stabilization and referral at discharge to community services for ongoing assistance.
At WRH, a multidisciplinary team of professionals including nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, family practice physicians, and psychiatrists work with individuals, families and community partners to provide intervention, treatment and promote recovery.
