The Ontario Epilepsy Genetic Testing Program
Effective October 1, 2020, PaLM Molecular Diagnostics will become the central lab for the Ontario Epilepsy Genetic Testing Program (OEGTP). The introduction of the Ontario Epilepsy Genetics Testing Program allows for full patriation of genetic testing for epilepsy at London Health Sciences Centre. This centre-of-excellence based program integrates state of the art genomic testing within a health systems utilization management program. PaLM, in collaboration with clinicians and the Ministry of Health of Ontario, will provide epilepsy patients rapid access to highly accurate genetic test results with a focus on continuing assessment of health system impacts, development of evidence-based care practices, continuous improvement and technology-based learning through Project ECHO.
