Congratulations to members of Western Pathology and Laboratory Medicine who took top honours at the OMPRN Pathology Matters Meeting in Toronto on October 15, 2018.
First Place Poster Prize was awarded to:
Characterizing the molecular basis of oncocytic papillary thyroid carcinoma using Cancer Digital Slides Archives and the Cancer Genome Atlas Database. Ariel Gershon, Katharina Baranova, Matthew Cecchini, Bret Wehrli.
Katharina Baranova is currently a year 3 medical student from Western interested in Pathology. She completed a portion of this work as part of the P.C. Studentship project this past summer.
Ariel Gershon is currently a year 4 medical student from Western interested in Pathology.
Second Place Poster Prize was awarded to:
TBX3 promotes progression of pre-invasive breast cancer cells by inducing EMT and directly upregulating SLUG.
