ALS Research and Community
Dr. Martin Duennwald’s lab received a grant from ALS Canada recently to study whether or not RGNEF protects motor neurons against misfolded TDP-43 and FUS, as well as their subsequent toxicity. Research by one of Dr. Duennwald’s students, Sonja DiGregorio, prompted this area of study. Dr. Duennwald also added one more student, Lilian Lin, who is also working on ALS research. During the fall of 2015, Dr. Duennwald and all four of his graduate students volunteered to walk in the “Walk for ALS” held on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Dr. Duennwald also gave a brief talk about his lab's research before participating in the walk.
