Welcome Dr. Ruchika Gupta

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ruchika Gupta to the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine as an Assistant Professor and Medical Microbiologist effective August 1, 2024. 

Dr. Ruchika Gupta received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Government Medical College in India before completing residency training in Medical Microbiology in Mumbai. This was followed by fellowship training in Transplant Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology residency training at the University of Toronto, where she was the Chief Resident. Dr. Gupta has more than seven years of experience managing a medical microbiology laboratory while focussing on antimicrobial resistance detection, infections in the immunocompromised host, and medical education. She has trained and supervised  BSc and MSc students in her lab in both India and Canada. Dr. Gupta has been awarded by SHEA, British Infection Association (BIA) and the Association of Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) for her research work on antimicrobial resistance and infection control.
