Dr. Michael Jurkiewicz is an adult and pediatric neuroradiologist who joined the Department of Medical Imaging as an Assistant Professor in 2018. He completed his undergraduate studies, as well as PhD and postdoctoral training in neurophysiology at the University of Toronto, then completed his medical training and diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Toronto. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Philadelphia, including adult neuroradiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and pediatric neuroradiology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His clinical interests include pediatric stroke, epilepsy, and neuro-oncology.
Dr. Jurkiewicz has obtained several research grants, including from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Radiological Society of North America, authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and presented his work at various scientific meetings world-wide. His research interests include motor control, cortical plasticity, and resting state functional connectivity.
