Dr. Justin Amann

Dr. Amann completed his residency training in Radiology here at Western in 1999. Following graduation, he commenced Fellowship training in Body Cross-Sectional Imaging under the supervision of Dr. Clare Romano at the University of Calgary in 2000. Dr. Amann began his career at Western in 2000, and has held a number of leadership roles since joining the department. From 2007 – 2013, Dr. Amann served as the Program Director for the Radiology Residency Training Program. His years of outstanding service culminated in his receiving of the prestigious Lois H. Ross Resident Advocate Award in 2013. This award is bestowed upon one individual in the province who has consistently advocated on behalf of residents and resident issues, within their role as an administrator, program coordinator, teacher or clinician.
Dr. Amann has also served as Chair of the Genitourinary Imaging Track, Scientific Programme and Exhibit Committees, and has been a member of the GU Scientific Subcommittee through the Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA) and a member of the RCPSC Examination Board for Diagnostic Radiology. He has published numerous abstracts, journal articles, and book chapters, has presented abstracts, served as an invited lecturer, has provided hundreds of mock orals, lectures, presentations, rounds and multidisciplinary rounds, and has supervised hundreds of undergraduate students and visiting students, residents and fellows (many of whom have gone on to become part of our own faculty), in the support Residency Education over the years.
