The VITAL Core Facility houses our Olympus and Nikon systems. Of special note is our Nikon A1R Multiphoton microscope. Multiphoton microscopy—the gold standard for imaging of living biological tissues—offers significantly improved depth penetration and reduced photodamage/phototoxicity, relative to other practices.
