Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness is defined by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn as a process of paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, nonjudgmentally.  Some of the empirically supported benefits of mindfulness meditation include:  decreases in stress, anxiety, depression, emotional reactivity, and increases in relationship satisfaction, cognitive flexibility, focus, and working memory.

Mindfulness Meditation Drop-In - 10 minutes session:

Come practice mindfulness meditation skills or try it for the first time in a relaxed, casual environment.  This group will be facilitated by Rachel Sansone on:

Tuesday, Janury 17th, 24th, 31st, February 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, March 7th, 21st and 28th from 12:30-12:45 in MSB190.

Offered weekly: however, a weekly commitment is not necessary

 

5 week Mindfulness Meditation Group - 25 minutes

Participants in this 5 week introductory to mindfulness meditation group will develop a personal mindfulness practice.  Each week will explore various topics and include a guided meditation.  This group will be facilitated by Rachel Sansone and requires a weekly commitment:

Thursday, February 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and March 2nd from 12:30-1pm in MSB190
