Dr. Spencer B. Chambers grew up in Bothwell, a small community in southwestern Ontario. He obtained an undergraduate degree in Electrical & Biomedical Engineering from McMaster University, graduating with honours, before attending the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry for both undergraduate and graduate medical training. During his residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery he also obtained a master’s degree investigating wrist biomechanics. At the completion of residency, he completed fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia with a focus on arthroscopic wrist surgery, upper extremity trauma, and complex orthopedic reconstruction.
Dr. Chambers has won numerous teaching awards and been active academically. He has authored numerous articles and book chapters on upper extremity injuries, with a focus on wrist reconstruction and the management of scaphoid pathology.
Dr. Chambers is currently based out of St. Joseph’s Hospital at the Roth|McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Clinic. His clinical research interests include wrist reconstruction, wrist arthroscopy, medical device development, and osseus reconstruction.
