The CIHR Institute of Aging and the CIHR Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis are highlighting the World Falls Guidelines with a 4 city event featuring Professor Stephen Lord (Sidney, Australia) as a invited key note speaker presenting on "The Role of Exercise on Cognition and Falls" 

Dr. Stephen Lord was a key contributor to the “exercises for falls prevention and management “ working group for the World Falls Guidelines.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Examine the role of exercise in enhancing cognition and balance in older adults.
  2. Explore current exercise interventions, based on randomized controlled trials (RCTs), that integrate cognitive and physical training to prevent falls.
  3. Recognize the types, frequency, and intensity of exercise for effective fall prevention.
