Raised in Sarnia, Ontario, Dr. Latosinsky completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at UWO in 1983. He received his MD from Toronto in 1990, followed by general surgical training at the University of Calgary which he completed in 1996. He then completed a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia and obtained a MSc in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University. Dr. Latosinsky worked for 10 years as a surgical oncologist at the University of Manitoba. His research activities are largely in health services research related to cancer, with clinical interests in surgical oncology: colorectal and breast cancer, melanoma and sarcoma (soft-tissue tumours).
