A Message from our Chair
Dear Students/Colleagues,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for another wonderful year in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
I am particularly proud of the work we completed on defining our substantive areas of research expertise and methodological approaches. This exercise was an integral component of our renewed strategic planning process and I am grateful to all who participated and/or provided leadership. I am pleased to report that we have already experienced the benefits of this framework in terms of identifying research linkages on campus, developing a recruitment pathway for graduate students, and applying for team grants, to name a few.
We have a great group of outstanding scholars and students, who are able to work together in a very collegial and productive fashion. Both our undergraduate and graduate programs have been growing over the last few years. I am also proud of the engagement of our cross-appointed and adjunct faculty members, who represent a major asset for our department and the Western community as a whole.
In closing, I wish you all a restful and rejuvenating holiday season. May this time with family and friends be filled with joyous memories and abundant blessings.
