Research by Dr. Shane Goodwin and Dr. Kathy Speechley finds that family environment influences emotional well-being in children with epilepsy
Published research by Dr. Shane Goodwin, first author on the study and PhD graduate from our program, and his former supervisor, Dr. Kathy Speechley, principal investigator on the study, Chair of the Children’s Health & Therapeutics Division at CHRI and professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, is highlighted in a media release from Lawson Health Research Institute and in a recent interview with CTV news.
Their research linked family and environmental influences to emotional well-being in children living with epilepsy, suggesting that a family-centred approach by their health care teams may benefit their future well-being.
