Building Reconciliation Forum 2023 - Summary ReportThis report highlights Universities Canada’s 8th annual Building Reconciliation Forum, hosted in June 2023—the largest event of its kind at Western. Themed Education for Reconciliation: Rebuilding Stronger and with Intentionality, it addressed rebuilding after pandemic disruptions. Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to ActionDecember 15, 2015 To amend Canada’s legacy of residential schools and advance reconciliation, the final report by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada called on governments, educational and religious institutions, civil society groups and all Canadians to act on the 94 calls to action. The report provides details of what happened to Indigenous children who were physically and sexually abused in government boarding schools, where thousands died from diseases resulting from poor living conditions. On December 15, 2015, the Prime Minister stated the Government of Canada's commitment to implement the recommendations of the commission. DOWNLOAD THE PDF GUIDE |
