Competence Committee
The competence committee:
- Ensures all learners achieve the requirements of the discipline through synthesis and review of qualitative and quantitative assessment data at each stage of training.
- Makes decisions related to progress of residents in achieving the national standards established by Royal College
- Provides recommendations on future learning activities
The primary role of the clinical supervisor is to provide coaching and formative feedback which is documented as a low-stakes observation of the trainee’s performance.
The competence committee synthesizes the data from many low-stakes observations for each trainee and makes recommendations related to promotion (or progress).
