Continuing Medical Education
This year's Drug Therapy Day sponsored by the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2019 at the Lamplighter Inn, London. This conference has been held annually for the past 39 years. Many physicians and pharmacists from Southwestern Ontario have attended this conference on a regular basis and the feedback is that the conference provides important and timely information regarding optimal drug therapy. As in previous years, our goal is to cover emerging areas of interest to the practicing physicians and pharmacists, by bringing in expert physicians and pharmacists as speakers. This year we are focusing on the following:
- To understand how to prescribe medication in the setting of renal disease
- To describe new trends in use of illicit and “street” drugs in London and region
- To describe optimal therapy for common problems in children
- To appreciate new therapeutic developments in pulmonary disease and in treatment of movement disorders and adverse effects of opiates
