SSHRC Bridge Grant awarded to Kathy Hibbert & Lorelei Lingard
We’re happy to announce that Dr. Kathy Hibbert, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education and CERI Centre Researcher, and Dr. Lorelei Lingard, were awarded a 2014 Strategic Support for SSHRC Bridge Grant from Western. Their proposal, “Raising a new generation of knowledge builders: An exploration of structural and relational factors shaping interdisciplinary doctoral supervision”, recognizes that creative solutions to the world's increasingly complex problems require the intersection of diverse expertise. Little scholarly attention has been directed toward how the new interdisciplinarity model is influencing the process and outcomes of graduate research training.
Drs. Hibbert and Lingard’s research will study the ‘archaeology of innovation’ of interdisciplinary programs, by tracing how knowledges interact with the people, materials and culture making visible the relational intersections between human and non-human agents.
Congratulations, Kathy & Lorelei.
