BMSc '17
A self-described small-town kid, Nicholas admits to feeling trepidation when he first visited Western University during March Break Open House. He had been looking at many university programs, but from the moment he stepped on campus and was greeted by the welcoming teams, he knew that Western was the perfect fit.
The structure of the BMSc program, which allows for two general years, and then an opportunity to pick a specialization really appealed to him. Proactive in advancing his interests, Nicholas received an NSERC grant in his second year, providing him the opportunity to perform research and resulting in his first-ever publication as a contributing author.
With diverse interests, Nicholas made time for on- and off-campus extracurricular activities getting involved with the Bachelor of Medical Sciences Association and volunteering at Ronald McDonald House. Never losing his focus, he exceled in his research and studies, and is now pursuing the MD/PhD Program at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.
