In Memoriam: Dr. Bishnu Sanwal - Obituary available
Dr. Bishnu (Bill) Sanwal, a former Emeritus Professor in the Dept. of Biochemistry, passed away on 28 Feb surrounded by his family. He was 95 years old and, until recently, visited the Dept. on occasion.Dr. Sanwal was Chair of Biochemistry from 1973-83 and Acting Chair from 1993-95. He was responsible for moving the Dept. to embrace the new science of molecular biology and to expand into membrane and protein biochemistry. He and Dr. Ted Lo are the named sponsors of our Graduate Endowment Fund.
The family held a private ceremony, and the obituary can be found in the London Free Press. Our deepest condolences go to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Sanwal.
