Currently serves as the co-director for Strategy for Patient Oriented Research Canadian Primary Care Research Network and Director, BC Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network. Her research focusses on the delivery and organization of primary health care with a particular focus on examining processes to decrease health care inequities seen in groups/populations who are made vulnerable by multiple intersecting determinants of health. She has an added focus of work in building a primary care information infrastructure that can be used for quality improvement and measuring performance in primary care, with particular focus on the usability of clinical electronic medical record data and organizational and patient surveys. She has held funding in both the US and Canada, having been a Principal Investigator (PI) on more than 20 grants from US and Canadian granting agencies, held >$43M CAD and >$1.3M USD as either a PI or co-investigator. In addition to contributing to the scientific work, she has successfully managed multi-million-dollar budgets, worked with multiple staff and collaborated with scholars across multiple disciplines.
