Before pursuing my medical studies, I completed a five-year postdoctoral program in neuroscience, where I researched the neurodevelopment of the dopaminergic system. As the first author, I have published several articles on this topic including one in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. My postdoctoral studies and medical training have strengthened my interest in applied neuroscience research, with a particular focus on mental health and addiction in young populations. I have gained valuable experience through internships in psychiatry, child psychiatry, and clinical research in psychiatry, and contributed to a published article on the role of trauma in mental health. As a family medicine resident, I developed a research project on ADHD funded by Reseau-1 Quebec in 2022. My research background motivates me to pursue a career in Youth and Family Mental Health, where I hope to address the significant gap in mental health care for young people and work towards improving service and mental health policy in Canada.
