Seeking applications for Associate Dean, Continuing Professional Development

The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, at Western University is seeking applications for the position of Associate Dean, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) effective July 1, 2014. The Associate Dean, CPD will be responsible for the administration, development, implementation and management of resources for CPD through the established program of CPD in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, which includes Continuing Medical Education, Continuing Dental Education and Faculty Development.
She/he will liaise with the Department and Division Chairs within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry as well as other CPD offices in Ontario and will report to the Vice Dean, Education. The incumbent will provide strategic leadership in CPD and effectively respond to identified needs for knowledge acquisition and skill development in different roles. She/he will review and revise policy and procedures to advance the development of high quality CPD in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry as needed. The incumbent will act as a representative on various regional, provincial, national, and international organizations or committees related to CPD when relevant from a strategic perspective.
The Associate Dean, CPD will create an environment that encourages and supports innovations, and recognition of professional development.
Candidates for the Associate Dean, CPD are expected to have experience, knowledge and commitment to continuing professional development and faculty development. She/he should have a demonstrated ability to collaborate, communicate, and facilitate in complex environments.
Established leadership and team building capacities and a track record of sustained commitment are expected.
The successful candidate must hold a full-time academic appointment within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, and a Certification from the CFPC or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This position will require a time commitment of two days per week for a five year term, once renewable.

Positions are subject to budget approval. Applicants should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
