London Health Research Day Keynote Speaker Announced
Monday, October 28, 2013
Margaret M. McCarthy, PhD, will deliver the keynote address at the 2014 London Health Research Day. Currently, McCarthy serves as the Chair of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics at the University of Maryland, and explores the ways in which sexually dimorphic structures are formed in the brain.
As part of the Lucille and Norton Wolf Health Lecture Series, McCarthy's talk, entitled "Surprising Origins of Sex Differences in the Brain," will detail her research looking at the different hormonal environments experienced by males and females during the perinatal period, and how these result in sex differences within the brain.
The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry presents London Health Research Day in partnership with Lawson Health Research Institute. This unique research event showcases the outstanding research from students, trainees and postdoctoral scholars from across the city of London. Each year, more than 600 attendees have the opportunity to learn more about nearly 400 research platform and poster presentations from trainees representing 14 distinct areas of research excellence.
Join us this year. Registration for guests, students interested in presenting research, and faculty members wishing to participate as judges, begins November 15.
